Idol of the den is an idol of believing in things based on limited experience. Generalization made by this idol based on limited experience will limit the students and be an obstacle in gaining knowledge for example: a student attended a new school, and on his first day he was bullied by another older student and that makes him separated, isolated and not sharing or interacting with any other students. This student thinks that all students in this school are bullies. As teachers we should show these students that not all his friends are bullies and they are nice where he can be engaged and interact with his friends normally.
The idol of the marketplace: this idol deals with language where students used to use terms that are not fully understood. As a teacher we should ask students to get rid of these misconceptions or redefine these terms and make them use it properly. For example: students nowadays used to say social media influencers are cool. We should explain the meaning of influencer and how people can influence positive and negative, then ask them to be aware of the contents of this influencer where he can be just a clown and students should not follow his steps.
The idol of theater: this relates to religious philosophy that prevents students from understanding things Example: A teacher explaining the reproductive system in science class and the students are very shy and think that it HARAM. Teachers should explain that it is science and all people should understand this system to be aware of disease.
It is an important topic to talk about. Without a doubt, we have to teach our students to get rid of these idols as they really hinder the acquisition of knowledge.
