Isolation

Learning online from home alone is not fun. Not attending classroom and interacting with friends and peers, students will feel isolated and not motivated to learn. This issue leads to more off task students and less engaging in class activities. Thus, the quality of education affected because of this problem. Isolation  can also affect instructional strategies that we work on. If we aren't aware of this issue, a lot of class activities will disappear like team work, class discussion, class activities, face to face interaction and communication which also affects the students engagement in class  and learning quality.

What can you do now that we were not able to do a year ago.

 After using Technology and Teaching platforms, Teachers are able to do more activities and prepare a better lesson plan using different tools and share it with the students. The more use of computers and technology provides the students with more visuals and videos in the demonstration of lessons which plays a big role in grabbing students' attention. Using tools in creating activities make it more fun and colorful with an immediate feedback.

The integration of technology in learning process helped in having a plenty of tools and ideas to implement in class and improve teaching quality. 

Challenges you face when learning/teaching online

 Teaching online is a new experience, and it has new problems that we didn't face before.

Solving these problems make new challenges for teachers to resolve and deal with. 

The top challenges teachers faced:

• Using the teaching platform 

• Having a lot of preparation and lunching a session

• Ensure that all devices working(Mics, Cams, Keyboard, Connection.....)

• Engaging All Students in classwork 

• Control Cheating cases 

• Class Management

• Attendance 

• Less Interaction (eye contact body language and facial expressions)

What do you think students should be taught when working online to avoid problems.

Internet Safety to Students

• Use safe device that is shared with only students.
• Verifying a link is safe.
• Teach students about online spam and .
• Privacy and not sharing personal info.
• Creating strong passwords and ensure sign out when we are done.
• Identifying, not participating, reporting and stopping cyberbullying.
• Becoming a good digital citizen.

How to be a good digital citizen.

A good digital citizen protects their personal information, uses good judgment and treats others with respect. Whether you're posting on social media, sending an email or commenting on an online discussion, practicing good digital citizenship makes our online world a more welcoming place for everyone.

Your opinion about integrating technology into teaching.

    I support the integration of technology in learning process. It's well organized, supports students with resources easily and helps assessing students. The integration of technology opened a new gate to a new world of activities and application that makes learning process colorful and fun than before. Students can access the resources anytime and anywhere when they need it. In addition to that, Integrating technology encourage students to use technology for education and makes them good users for several platforms. The knowledge  gained form using these technology empower students and prepare them for collage. When students become friendly with these tools, they will able to improve themselves in different domains from their choice. The integration of technology in learning process means training students on technology for education.

Tools that can be used in online assessment

Technology supports education in many fields. One of these fields is assessment. To assess students work accurately, you may may need technology help. The computer assessment has many features.

4. Shows edit history (effective in group work activity)

EDUC-561 What I like about this course?

 This course supports the teachers with a variety of technology tools that are very useful in classroom for making quizzes and activities for students. Some of these tools can be very useful in evaluating students and grading systems. Using technology tools and apps in creating activities make it colorful and more fun than before. This course helps teachers to use technology in the educational process to engage more students in doing tasks and learning which improves the teaching quality.

What I wish were different in this course !!

 

In general, I like physical education as a teacher or student. Learning physically provides a better understanding and social interaction with teachers and colleagues. I'm social person and teaching online doesn't provide these kind of communication that makes me feel satisfied and motivated. If this course was physically delivered, it will be more effective and beneficial.
